Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion Campus Committee
The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Campus Committee (EDICC) was established in 2016 and held it's inaugural meeting in November 2016. The EDICC sets the framework for equality in service provision and employment across the University through development of operational work programmes.
This committee is composed of representative members from across the University who are senior decision makers with responsibilities for major units, schools, colleges, and leadership, including involvement from the Students' Union and Staff Networks. The EDICC reports to both the University Management Team (UMT) and to Údarás na hOllscoile (Governing Authority), via a sub-committee of the Údarás, the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Resources Committee (EDIHRC).
The Terms of Reference of the EDICC were initially approved on November 1st 2016 and are reviewed regularly. The Terms of Reference were updated in May 2021 and approved by Údarás na hOllscoile on June 24th 2021: EDICC Terms of Reference.
The EDICC meets four times per academic year and working groups have been scoped to develop plans in relation to 5 strategic areas. University of Galway staff members can access the agenda and minutes of the EDICC on the OVPEDI SharePoint site for Shared Staff Documents.
