‌‌‌‌Undergraduate entry to Medicine for Irish, UK and EU school leavers is based on both

1. Achieving a minimum of 480 points and meeting the minimum entry requirements for the programme in the same sitting of the Irish Leaving Certificate Examination (or equivalent*) and

2. Completing the required admissions test (HPAT-Ireland) in the year of entry to the medicine programme.

(HPAT-Ireland is an assessment test which was introduced in 2009 for EU students applying for undergraduate medicine in the Medical Schools in the Republic of Ireland. The score achieved in the HPAT-Ireland examination will be added to the Leaving Certificate points to create a total point's score for admission).
