The College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies offers the following undergraduate and postgraduate programmes:

Cúirt International Festival of Literature

As part of the NUI Galway/Cúirt partnership, our Creative Writing students gain dedicated access to Cúirt masterclasses, helping to inspire the next generation of Irish writers.

John McGahern archive

NUI Galway has had a long association with the late John McGahern, who was Adjunct Professor in Irish Studies here. In 2003, he bestowed his literary archive to the University, covering 40 years of writing. It remains a valuable resource for researchers and scholars with an interest in modern Irish literature.

Writers Group Soc

The Writers Group Soc encourages students to share their work and listen to the work of fellow writers. They organise writing games and competitions, as well as publishing the work of their members.
