AkiDwA launches Migrant Women’s Safety Charter at University of Galway

On 9 July 2026, AkiDwA (a national network of migrant women living in Ireland) launched the Migrant Women’s Safety Charter at the University of Galway, in honour of Masoumeh Sohrabi and all migrant women in Ireland who have experienced violence.
The Charter sets out a collective commitment to building safer and more inclusive communities, with a focus on safety without barriers, equal access to support and protection, prevention through inclusion, shared responsibility, and meaningful action.
The event was hosted by Professor Roja Fazaeli.
