Baboró International Arts Festival for Children
The BEAST! project draws together scientists, artists, teachers and 200 students from across Galway to explore a 'Low Carbon Future' through sculpture, film, prints and poetry.

The University provides accreditation for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Fine Art at Burren College of Art, located in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.
Éamon de Buitléar archive
Bronnadh cartlann Éamoin de Buitléar ar an Ollscoil in 2012. Is cartlann d’ábhar ilmheáin í a léiríonn saothar ildánach an fhir uasail thar tréimhse trí scór bliain. Tá láimhscríbhinní, scannáin agus ábhar físe den uile chineál, cartlann de théipeanna fuaime agus ceoil, scripteanna, trealamh craolacháin agus leabhair i measc na mean éagsúil sa chnuasach eisceachtúil seo.
The Éamon de Buitléar archive was bestowed on the University in 2012. It is a multimedia archive that represents the breadth of the man's work over sixty years. The exceptional collection contains a mixture of manuscripts, films and videos of all types, an archive of sound and music recordings, scripts, broadcast equipment and books.
John Huston archive
The James Hardiman Library is home to a rich archive of multimedia from the life and work of film-maker, John Huston. It includes recordings of music used in his films, publicity materials, photos and magazines, press cuttings and legal documentation, with a particular focus on his last film, The Dead.
TG4 Gradam Ceoil
MA students from the Huston School of Film and Digital Media have the opportunity to intern on the production of the televised award ceremony for TG4's prestigious Gradam Ceoil traditional music awards.
Projects
Art Classes
Artist and University Art Collection Coordinator, Marina Wild, teaches four weekly art classes on campus for staff, students and the public.
Art Database
The Art Database is a project coordinated by the Arts and Theatre Office, and documenting the over 500 pieces of art on display throughout the University. The website includes photos of each individual piece, as well as notes on the materials, artist and location.
Arts and Theatre Office
The Arts and Theatre Office coordinates a wide range of culturals activities and programmes around the University. The team is in charge of a number of performance and creative spaces on campus. The Office is led by Arts Officer, Fionnuala Gallagher.
Exhibitions
The University Art Gallery is located in the Quadrangle, and regularly hosts art exhibitions by students, staff and visiting artists. Other exhibitions take place on campus in Áras na Mac Léinn and the Arts Millennium Building throughout the year.
Film Screenings and Talks
The Huston School of Film and Digital Media host regular film screenings and talks throughout the year. Check out their website for upcoming events.
Reel Lives Film Festival
The Irish Centre for Social Gerontology present this festival of lunchtime film screenings each year exploring the life cycle. The festival is open to staff, students and members of the public with an interest in film.
Societies
Art Soc
The Art Soc encourages students to explore their artistic side by providing art classes and hosting exhibitions on campus throughout the year.
Film Soc
One of our biggest societies, Film Soc brings together students of all disciplines who have a love for films and filmmaking. They screen two movies a week - both the classics and the very best of contemporary cinema - and also make movies, many of which have won awards nationwide.
Photography Soc
The Photography Soc are busy throughout the year, hosting talks from guest photographers, exhibitions, competitions, trips, photowalks around Galway, darkroom classes and various workshops.
