Biography

Dr Sarah Jenkins is a lecturer in comparative government and politics in the School of Political Science and Sociology. She obtained her PhD in International Politics from the University of Aberystwyth in 2013. Her research interests lie at the intersection of peace and conflict studies, African politics, and democratisation, with current research focusing on electoral violence and manipulation, civilian self-protection, and the micro-dynamics of conflict and peace. Sarah has published in a number of edited volumes, as well as the leading journals African Affairs, Democratization, Civil Wars, and the Journal of Modern Ethnography,

Sarah has previously held positions as an Associate Professor in the School of International Development at the University of East Anglia, a Research Associate at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University, and a Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick.

Research Interests

Dr Jenkins' research interests lie in peace and conflict studies, democratization, electoral manipulation and violence, and African politics.
