Biography

Federica holds a Ph.D. in Economics, Management, and Statistics from the University of Messina, Italy.

Her Ph.D. research focused on the circular economy in the agri-food sector, developing a quantitative decision-support framework that integrates economic and environmental metrics to evaluate performance under alternative scenarios.

Before joining the University of Galway, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Messina, where she developed indicator-based framework, integrating Life Cycle Assessment and circularity indicators to assess the performance of the olive oil value chain, and served as a teaching fellow in the Economics of Climate Change at the School of Economics, UCD.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at SEMRU. Her research focuses on cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis of marine restoration interventions, assessing their economic implications and feasibility to support evidence-based decision-making.
