Women in Engineering ‌

Women in Engineering: The School of Engineering at NUI Galway is proud of its long history of graduating successful female Engineers. In fact, Alice Perry, the first woman to receive a degree in Engineering in either Ireland or the United Kingdom graduated me from this University in 1906, top of her class in Civil Engineering. Our new Engineering Building was officially named the Alice Perry Engineering Building on March 6th 2017, in recognition of Alice as a role model and inspiration for staff, students and visitors.

Galway Science and Technology Festival

Galway Science and Technology Festival. The Galway Science & Technology Festival is Ireland's leading premier event for the education of children and the promotion of STEAM. The Festival has grown over the years to be the preeminent STEAM event in the West of Ireland, and a key feature on the national STEAM calendar. The Festival is a collaboration of industry, education and local government and the support of these bodies allows the Festival to provide all events free to attend.

NUI Galway Engineers Week: 'Engineering Our Future: Family Fun Day' in the Alice Perry Engineering building at NUI Galway celebrates Engineering as part of the Engineers Week. This Family Fun Day provides science and engineering shows, movie screening, workshops and hands-on activities that will inspire young (and older!!) people and help them learn about the world around us!

NUI Galway Crèche Parents' Committee email. The University Crèche facility is located at 50 Upper Newcastle Road, Galway and is available to children of staff and students of NUI Galway. The crèche facility operates under a Licence Agreement which is renewed by an open tendering process every 4 to 5 years.

University Women's Network: To coincide with International Women’s Day the first University Women's Network was launched in NUI Galway. The Network seeks to support professional development and networking among its members towards achieving individual career goals and contributing to the development of vibrant research, teaching and support services communities.
