Community Engagement
Community Engagement
At University of Galway, we believe that the best learning takes place when you apply what you learn in a real world context. That's why many of our courses include work placements or community projects.
Industry Partners
As part of the REBPAF doctoral training network, our researchers will embark on industry secondments with industry partners. All secondments have been devised to add value by providing work experience in academic-related industry that provides an ideal fit for the research project; by inculcating high-level and sought-after professional and IT skills that will enable the researchers to take up roles in modern non-academic companies and organisations. Finally the secondment will provide opportunities for knowledge transfer, from research to industry, and from industry back to research. For our REBPAF researchers, the secondment is both a research and a training and development opportunity, and for our non-academic partner it is an opportunity to benefit from the high-level skills and academic capacities of our researchers.
