What role does Graduate Studies Board play?
The Graduate Studies Board (GSB) considers matters of academic policy and practice relating to postgraduate study and research in line with the overall objectives, policy and regulations of the University. The Board deals with matters such as:
- Structure of postgraduate research degree programmes
- New postgraduate research degree programmes and major changes to existing postgraduate research degree programmes
- Structures, credit frameworks, content and assessments of graduate modules
- Annual reports on progression and completion rates for graduate research students
- Revision of the University guidelines in relation to research degree programmes and approval of local guidelines
- Promotion of postgraduate research programmes
- Formation of Graduate Schools
- Strategy for Graduate Studies
- Such matters as the Academic Council Standing Committee may refer.
