Culture Night Panel Discussion 'The impact of social media on your people’s perceptions regarding sex'
Dr Stacey Scriver, Centre for Global Women's Studies, University of Galway chaired an expert panel on 'The impact of social media on your people’s perceptions regarding sex' with the Galway Rape Crisis Centre for Culture Night.
The Role Social Media Plays on Young People's Perspective of Sex aimed to explore how social media has influenced the way young people perceive sex. With the increasing use of social media platforms by young people, it is important to examine how these platforms shape their attitudes towards sex, relationships, and sexual health. The panel discussion delved into the different ways social media impacts the sexual behaviour of young people and how it can either positively or negatively affect their perception of sex.
The objective of the panel discussion was to provide insights into the role that social media plays in shaping young people's attitudes towards sex and to discuss ways to promote healthy sexual behaviours among young people in the digital age.
