GEAP Progress
The Gender Equality Action Plan brings together all of the recommendations from the University of Galway Gender Equality Task Force Report, overlaid with the recommendations from the HEA National Review, the Institutional Athena SWAN action plan, and the Ministerial DES Gender Action Plan 2018-2020. GEAP 2 was approved by the University Governing Authority in June 2019.
The 3rd iteration of the Gender Equality Action Plan was approved by the University Governing Authority in October 2021. GEAP 3 integrates the 2021 Athena SWAN action plan, gender equality actions from the EDI strategy 2020-2025, outstanding actions from GEAP 2, and an action which commits to the implementation of the Consent Framework to confront sexual violence and harassment.
The Office of the Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion lead and oversee the implementation of this GEAP. Progress reports are posted regularly based on feedback from the relevant responsible Units/Departments/Posts. If you have any further questions please contact the OVPEDI at OVPEDI@universityofgalway.ie
