Space For Everyone
The Office of the Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (OVPEDI) has launched its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Campaign “Space For Everyone” on March 12, 2024. Building on feedback from numerous consultations and in keeping with the theme of ‘Belonging’, the campaign is an accurate reflection of the diversity and supports that exists within our third level institution.
EDI Campaign Key Objectives:
- Promote and support the diversity that exists within our staff and student body.
- Educate the university community about equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Highlight the University commitment to a zero-tolerance approach to racism.
- Promote the supports available to staff and students.
As you scroll on university social media platforms, or as you walk across campus, you will notice various elements of the campaign including ‘Space For Everyone’ banners and signage promoting our diverse community and signposting to information and supports that is available to staff and students.
What can you do to support the EDI Campaign?
Sign up for in person training here or access ‘Let’s Talk About Race’ eLearning module here.
The race equality training has been developed to promote awareness, increase staff knowledge and build capacity in relation to racism and anti-racism in both theory and practice in University of Galway.
The programme will lead participants into action-focused practice, while focusing on lived experiences within a higher education environment and provides participants with the time to reflect on their role in promoting an inclusive university community.
