Nelson Mandela Leadership Award Winner Professor Su-Ming Khoo

Professor Su-Ming Khoo’s commitment to racial justice, decolonisation and inclusive education was recently recongised at the inaugural Nelson Mandela Leadership Awards, where she received the Staff Leadership Award.
Beyond academia, Su has played a key role in shaping national race equality policies, contributing to the HEA Race Equality Implementation Plan and Anti-Racism Principles for Irish Higher Education Institutions. She continues this work through the Race Equality Committee, ensuring meaningful change at University of Galway. Her dedication has been widely recognised, including the University of Galway Research Excellence Supervisor Award (2019) and the IRC Research Ally Prize (2021).
