Creating Conditions for Success: Enhancing Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Placement Learning
The School of Political Science and Sociology was delighted to host the fifth conference in the Building Capacity in Practice Education series at the Connacht Hotel last week. This was made possible through funding from the HSCP National Office and organised by Eleanor Kelly, Lecturer and Practice Learning Co-ordinator in the school, as part of our MA Social Work programme.
This year’s theme, “Creating Conditions for Success: Enhancing Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Placement Learning,” provided an important opportunity to explore how we can continue to strengthen and support inclusive, culturally responsive practice education.
A huge thank you to our guest speakers, Dr Prospera Tedam, Professor of Social Work UCD and Dr Oluromade Olusa, Principal Social Worker with the HSE Disability Service, for sharing their expertise and insights.
It was also wonderful to be joined by colleagues from MA Social Work programmes at University College Dublin, Technological University of the Shannon and Atlantic Technological University, alongside Social Work Practitioners and Practice Educators from across the sector.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such an engaging day. We look forward to continuing the conversation together.
