I would like to welcome you to the J.E Cairnes School of Business and Economics at NUI Galway.

Energised by our regional edge on the west coast of Ireland, we are a globally engaged School of Business and Economics for the public good that makes a transformative impact for students, society and business. 

Our vision is to make a global impact for the public good by addressing grand challenges through our teaching, research and influence on public policy.

The School offers a wide range of programmes, from undergraduate degrees to executive education, tailored to deliver the specific professional skills required to succeed in a globalised and competitive environment. Led by our highly-experienced faculty, we pursue an innovative teaching approach that incorporates face-to-face delivery, blended learning, professional mentoring, student placements and group-based project work. 

Our outstanding faculty are recognised as experts in their field by practitioners and by other academics, and our ambitious and motivated students come from over 40 countries. Our graduates are highly employable and many of our 14,000+ alumni have become leaders in their fields.
