James Massey Keegan Scholarship
This scholarship supports incoming first-year students at the University of Galway who are from County Mayo.
About this Scholarship
The Dr. James Massey Keegan Scholarship was established by Dr. James Massey Keegan, a graduate of Queen’s College and the University of Galway. It is open exclusively to students from County Mayo and may be held in conjunction with other scholarships or grants awarded by the University or external bodies.
Scholarship Value

The scholarship is valued at €1,500.
Eligibility
- The Scholarship will be awarded to students from County Mayo.
- Must be entering the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Galway.
- Students must complete registration by the official deadline and remain registered until at least March 1st of the academic year.
Awarding Criteria
- The scholarship is awarded based on Leaving Certificate results. (Further detail available once you click on the PDF below).
- It is only valid for the academic year in which it is awarded.

If the recipient withdraws or does not meet course requirements before March 1st, the scholarship may need to be repaid in full or in part, at the discretion of the University. See full detail below:
