NUI Galway has made the procurement decision to sign up to the EduCampus sectoral framework agreement awarded to DXC Technology for the design, implementation and ongoing support for a Student Record Management System (SRMS) using Ellucian Banner 9+ technology.

EduCampus’ vision is to “Empower higher education through quality IT shared services”. We are a shared services initiative that provides business critical ICT application services and Management Information Systems (MIS) systems to the Higher Education and Research sectors in Ireland.

EduCampus acts as a broker for clients by engaging with relevant service providers and suppliers in negotiating software licensing, application hosting and support agreements in addition to providing implementation services and business operations support to the client base.

The EduCampus Engagement Model is based on continuous collaboration with our client community. We work to understand the requirements and then deliver the solutions required. We engage with the client community on:

Defining requirements for new and existing management information systems relevant to the higher education and research sectors
Driving the tender procurement process to establish further framework agreements
Delivering innovative commercial and service level agreements tailored to the higher education and research sectors
Managing system implementations through the use of cloud technology
Managing the clients’ relationship with the vendors through all stages of project and service delivery

Since its formation in 2015, EduCampus has established itself as a provider of quality shared services to the Higher Education and Research sectors in Ireland and has continued to grow its client community. In addition to the Institutes of Technology, EduCampus also provides services to TU Dublin, Munster Technological University, University of Limerick, NUI Galway, the Houses of the Oireachtas and through our partnership with Education Shared Business Services (ESBS), to Trinity College Dublin, Marino Institute of Education, NUI Galway, University of Limerick, and University College Cork (UCC).

In June 2020, EduCampus announced the signing of a ten-year Framework Agreement with DXC Technology to provide a new digital Student Records Management System (SRMS) for its Institute of Technology and Technological University clients.

Under this Agreement, DXC will partner on this system modernization initiative with Ellucian, the higher education software and solutions company. DXC and Ellucian have worked together for more than 15 years, delivering services and solutions to the higher education sector in Ireland. 

The Agreement provides for the managed support, cloud-hosting, and implementation of the latest Ellucian SRMS (Banner) software platform to current and future clients of EduCampus. In addition, it provides a contract mechanism for other educational bodies to take advantage of the additional functionality of this new platform.

NUI Galway signed a Client Services Agreement (CSA) with EduCampus on 24 June, 2021. This CSA allows NUI Galway to draw down on the EduCampus framework agreement with DXC Technology.

NUI Galway will use the CSA to replace the current Student Records Management Solution (SRMS) with the Banner technology provided for in the framework agreement.

The new SRMS application will be hosted on a DXC built environment which resides on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. DXC will use Ellucian Banner Student and supporting products and tools to meet the business needs and requirements of NUI Galway.
