Committee Outline
Committee Chair: Dr Elaine Dunleavy
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee will be responsible for development and oversight of EDI initiatives, as well as governance and policy as they relate to EDI matters. The EDI Committee has a key role in ensuring the EDI agenda is fully embedded across all areas of School activity.
Committee Terms of Reference
- Develop, implement and monitor EDI initiatives within the school.
- Support the implementation of School Athena Swan Action plans.
- Develop, implement and monitor the College’s Strategy as it relates to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Develop and manage the school’s contribution to the GEAP.
- Develop and implement initiatives and practices that will improve EDI within the College
- Coordinate events that raise the profile of EDI in the College.
- Coordinate school responses to consultations in the area of EDI.
- Advise on school-level Athena Swan applications
- Support the implementation of school Athena Swan Action plans.
- Develop, implement and monitor initiatives linked to equality of opportunity and respect for diversity in the school.
- Identify areas in the school that may require equality and/or diversity work.
