News
- Jim visited Shinichi Tanigawa and Bill Jackson at University of Tokyo for a week at the start of December to work on a joint research project.
- Yueyun gave an oral presentation in Berlin on "Using Quantitative Flow Ratio Curves for the Classification ofPhysiological Coronary Artery Disease Patterns" at the 16th International Conference of the ERCIM WG on Computational and Methodological Statistics
- Andrew delivered workshops on longitudinal data analysis and multiple imputation as part of a research visit to Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital Research Centre. Solomon and Anna took part in the research workshop as part of their PhDs collaborations.
- Shane O'Connell (PhD student with Pilib, co-supervised by Dara Cannon in Medicine) successfully defended his thesis on: "Investigating the genetics of deep learning-derived neuroimaging phenotypes of neuropsychiatric disorders".
- Dr. Noor Kherreh has joined Pilib's group as a postdoctoral researcher.
- Devesh Haseja has joined Pilib's group as a research assistant.
- Micheál Ó Dálaigh (PhD student with Pilib) had his abstract accepted for an oral presentation at Glór na dTaighdeoirí, an interdisciplinary conference for postgraduate researchers with Irish, which will take place in March in UCD.
- Pierre Murchan (Pilib's group) presented on "Surrogate Biomarker Prediction from Whole-Slide Images for Assessing Overall Survival in Lung Adenocarcinoma" at the European Thoracic Oncology Platform (ETOP) meeting in Zurich. Pierre has also started his placement in the Cancer Molecular Diagnostics department at St. James's Hospital.
- Victoria (PhD student with Michael McG) submitted her thesis titled: “Boolean games played in a triangle using bi-partite and tri-partite entanglement”. Her viva will be on Friday 1st March 2024.
- Jim visited MIC Thurles for 4 days to work on some joint projects with Derek Kitson (MIC) and Sean Dewar (Bristol University).
- Jim gave a talk (“A lower bound theorem for centrally symmetric simplicial spheres”) at the Santander Workshop on Geometric and Algebraic Combinatorics in Spain.
- Michael Mc Gettrick gave a talk on "Introduction to Quantum Games" at the Winter School on Quantum Quantum Computing Technologies (Mehran University, Pakistan), 17-18 January 2024
