Please ensure a 5-business day processing period for Research Accounts Office approval of your PPF. The HR deadline for receiving approved PPFs is the 10th of the preceding month before the post start date. This deadline also applies to Cost Centre changes, provided they are submitted by the 10th of the month in which the change is to take effect.‌

Please note, in raising PPFs against project labour budgets please ensure that you maintain adequate allowance for pension provision as per the original submitted/agreed budget.  Pension provisions in the budget cannot be used to supplement the salary budget and/or be re-allocated to other budget categories.

Please note the default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale. This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the payscale, where evidence of prior years’ equivalent experience is accepted.
