Biography
Ambassador Alison Milton holds a Masters in Community Development Studies, National University of Ireland Galway and a Bachelors of Commerce: Banking & Finance, University College Dublin. She is currently the Ambassador of Ireland to Colombia and she is also the first Irish resident ambassador in Colombia. She has a longstanding career within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade where she covered the following roles: Director of the Humanitarian Aid Program 2018-2015; Member of the Board of Directors of Ministry 2017 – 2015; Director ad interim of the Planning and Policy Section 2015 – 2014; Deputy Director of the Planning and Policy Section 2014 – 2013; Director of the Civil Society and Development Education Section 2013 – 2009; Deputy Head of the Mission, Embassy of Ireland in Maseru, Lesotho 2009 – 2008 and First Secretary, External Assistance program, Embassy of Ireland in Maputo, Mozambique 2008 – 2003.
