Irish Centre for Human Rights hosts ENLIGHT and other partners to plan for Online School on Human Rights 2025
The Irish Centre for Human Rights hosted partners from Ghent University, the University of Groningen, Uppsala University, the Elena Bonner School and GDSI for a workshop on 21 February 2025.
This ENLIGHT supported workshop, allowed participants to review the Online School on Human Rights 2024, with a view to deciding the focus, format and curriculum for this year’s School.
In particular, the participants discussed the objective for the 2025 school, the topics that should be covered, the teaching methods that should be employed, and the target audience. Partners also explored how to ensure the sustainability and widest possible reach of the School.
The Irish Centre for Human Rights was represented by Professor Dr. Siobhán Mullally, Dr Róisín Mulgrew, Dr. Illan Wall and Dr. Edel Hughes.
The participants from Ghent University were Prof. Dr. Fabienne Bossuyt (Co-Director of the Ghent Institute for International and European Studies and Co-Director of the Eureast Platform), Anna Sashchenko (Coordinator of the Eureast Platform) and Iana Ovsiannikova (Doctoral Researcher, Faculty of Political and Social Science).
The University of Groningen was represented by Prof. Dr. Tom Casier, Professor in Global Politics of Europe, Faculty of International relations.
Dr. Laima Vaige (Associate Professor in law) and Dr. Matthew Kott (Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies) joined from the University of Uppsala.
The Elena Bonner School was represented by Anna Semenova, Ruslan Dzhan and Christos Kosmidis.
GDSI Managing Director, Pauric Brophy, was also in attendance.
