Unconscious bias training
Online unconscious bias training
All members of interview and promotion boards are required to attend unconscious bias training. The initial unconscious bias training (i.e. the first time an individual staff member participates in the training) should be face-to-face with annual refresher training via the University’s online module thereafter.
To access online unconscious bias training on LearnUpon, click here. If you're a first time user you can register with your @universityofgalway.ie email address.
Please follow the steps in the following user guide:
- You are presented with a login screen as below, where you can enter your details.
- If you forgot your password, please click the forgot password? option and follow the instructions below:
- Enter your @universityofgalway.ie click Resend.
- You will receive an email with a link. Click the link to reset your password:
- Enter your new password and click Change my password:
You will have automatically been enrolled on two courses:
- Unconscious Bias - Video Resource
- Unconscious Bias
NOTE If you have not been automatically enrolled on any courses, please contact learninganddevelopment@universityofgalway.ie
Click on Start to begin the course:
Click the arrow icon to progress through the course:
Click play to play each video:
Once each video has completed click on the right arrow to advance to the next section:
To access any particular section of the course again click on the three bars at the top right-hand of the screen, then click the section you want to access:
Once you have completed each section you will reach the conclusion page. You must exit this page to ensure your course status is updated. To exit the page click on the "Save and Exit" at the top right-hand corner of the screen:
When you exit, your progress will be updated.
Repeat these steps for each course. Once you have completed a course it moves from the Enrolled tab to the Completed tab.
Once each course is completed you can print a certificate. Click Download:
To logout, click the dropdown option and click Logout :
