Lone Working

Where a Unit has a staff member working alone it must assess the risk and review the control measures in place to eliminate this risk where possible or otherwise ensure the safety of that employee through adequate safety management arrangements. Lone work may arise Out of Hours Link to Out of Hour page) or it may be due to the nature of the work e.g. independent research, surveys/fieldwork at private houses or remote locations. In all cases it is important that the nature of the work is assessed and if it varies that this is factored in.
