Structured PhD
Global Women's Studies (Structured PhD)
Global Women's Studies (Structured PhD)
The Structured PhD is a four-year, fulltime, student-centred programme organised around the primary goal of supporting scholarly research. It offers a flexible template to student preferences within the disciplines and scholarly methodologies of the School and College in which it sits.
As part of the doctoral training available on the Structured PhD programme, students are required to complete 30 credits of taught modules from a menu of discipline-specific and generic skills options with the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies, NUI Galway and/or through the Graduate Studies office. Choices are decided in consultation with the PhD supervisor.
An extensive choice of modules in Global Women’s Studies is offered to Structured and Taught PhD Students via Centre for Global Women’s Studies’ taught MA in Gender, Globalisation and Rights.
