Payment for the 25-Week Pre-Masters English Language Pathway is made on the University’s application system here.

 

Refund policy 

The English Language Centre offers full refunds for a course cancellation or for students who are refused an Irish visa (subject to submission of required documentation). Full fees are refunded with 28+ days cancellation notice.

How to apply for a refund  

For visa refusal: Submit your refund application in writing, along with a copy of your rejection letter from the GNIB and a copy of your stamped passport to englishlanguage@universityofgalway.ie 

Travel & Health Insurance

  • It is the responsibility of the student to take out private travel and health insurance. Students are expected to insure themselves against theft, loss that may arise. English Language Centre does not accept responsibility for any of the above. 
  • EU students can obtain an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) for basic cover. For more information click here. 
  • Non-EU students must produce evidence of medical health cover. The English Language Centre can organise health insurance vis-à-vis University of Galway’s insurance providers. For more information, click here.

Visa Information

Non-EU/EEA students may require a study visa. It is the responsibility of NonEU/EEA student to adhere to guidelines outlined by the Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service (INIS), a function of the Department of Justice and Equality, in relation to obtaining a study visa.

Please also note it is important to begin visa application process on confirmation of booking and payment of fees as applications can take up to 6 weeks to process.

Class Size

The maximum number of students in any of our classes is 15. For a class to run, the minimum number of students required is 5. English Language Centre reserves the right to cancel courses if minimum number of students is not reached with up to 2 weeks notification of cancellation

 

Closures

English Language Centre is closed for public holidays in 2026 including January 1, February 2, March 17, April 3, April 6, May 4, June 1, August 3, October 26, December 25, and December 26.
