Hello everyone, my name is Joe and I will be the Students' Union's Vice-President for Education in the 22/23 academic year. My mission is to champion a culture of transparency, cooperation and engagement within our student movement. I hope my research-based cooperative approach will lead to noticeable changes in your day-to-day experiences. I originally became involved in the student movement due to my own struggles growing up with dyslexia. I wanted to support students struggling in their attainment of education. I passionately believe that "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." I will endeavour to ensure all students can reach their fullest potential.
Dia daoibh gach duine, Joe is ainm dom agus beidh mé i do Leas-Uachtarán um Oideachas le Comhaltas na Mac Léinn sa bhliain acadúil 22/23. Is é an misean atá agam ná cultúr trédhearcachta, comhoibrithe agus rannpháirtíochta a chur chun cinn laistigh dár ngluaiseacht mac léinn. Tá súil agam go dtiocfaidh athruithe suntasacha ar d’eispéiris ó lá go lá mar thoradh ar an gcur chuige comhoibríoch atá bunaithe ar thaighde atá agam. Na deacrachtaí a bhí agam féin agus mé ag fás aníos leis an disléicse a thug orm páirt a ghlacadh i ngluaiseacht na mac léinn. Bhí mé ag iarraidh tacú le mic léinn a bhí ag streachailt chun oideachas a bhaint amach. Creidim go diongbháilte gurb é ‘an t-oideachas an t-arm is cumhachtaí is féidir a úsáid chun an domhan a athrú.’ Déanfaidh mé mo dhícheall a chinntiú go bhféadfaidh gach mac léinn a lánacmhainneacht a bhaint amach."
