Children's Studies (Structured PhD)
Course Overview
The Structured PhD in Children’s Studies is a four-year full-time or six year part-time interdisciplinary PhD programme with contributions from various schools and disciplines in the University of Galway. This interdisciplinary programme responds to a need for researchers with broad knowledge and understanding of children’s lives in Ireland and beyond.
Over the four years, the programme will provide students with access to the expertise of a range of scholars in the field of Children’s Studies, as they develop their research ideas and enhance their research skills.
As part of the programme, students are expected to take discipline specific modules, generic skills modules and engage in their own research. Specific modules will be determined according to the research area of each individual student.
Programmes Available
Structured PhD, full-time & part-time
