Overview

The objective of this course is to give participants an understanding of the law governing audiovisual or entertainment media: broadcasting, film, video, video games, drama, music, etc., on traditional and online platforms. The concepts of artistic expression and commercial speech, and their protection in international and domestic law, will be explored. Structural regulation will be considered, in particular recent developments at European level in the area of AI, copyright, broadcasting and on-demand services. Content restrictions, such as those relating to protection of minors, blasphemy, sex and violence, pornography and racism, will be discussed.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be over 21 years of age. A Level 8 undergraduate qualification or equivalent is required.

This course is geared towards people working in the entertainment industry, or anyone interested in learning more about entertainment law.
