3rd Annual Sand Dune Gathering
3rd Annual Sand Dune Gathering
Saturday 17th May 2025, 10am to 4pm, Galway
This event aims to bring together anyone interested in the future of Ireland’s beaches and dunes. At the event you will have the opportunity contribute your views in a friendly, constructive environment and hear from local communities and responsible authorities on their latest actions and initiatives in tackling erosion and other issues on their local dune systems.
There are no easy answers to the complex problems our beaches and dunes face, so this event is very much about working together to secure the future of our wild Atlantic spaces. The format will primarily be short presentations (<5min) with discussion. There will be:
- a dedicated “local communities only” forum,
- a parallel “public sector staff” forum.
- a combined session for local communities and responsible authorities to share updates and discuss challenges.
We will host a field trip to Grattan Beach, Salthill.
Numbers are limited, so book on this link to avoid disappointment.
