Professor Jonathan Purtle
Professor Jonathan Purtle is a senior researcher and assistant professor in Health Management and Policy at the School of Public Health, Drexel University, USA.
Jonathan Purtle is a policy dissemination and implementation researcher who focuses on issues related to mental health and health equity. His research uses theories and methods from the social sciences to understand how scientific evidence can be most effectively communicated to policymakers and translated into practice.
Jonathan will sit on the CDP-CDP Executive Programme Advisory Board as an expert specialising in dissemination and implementation research. He will provide guidance to the team and to doctoral candidates on effective communication and dissemination strategies for policy makers. In particular, he will contribute to the in-person doctoral training programme and will attend one of the annual summer schools. During this time he will deliver education and training in the area of policy dissemination research and will be on-hand to provide guidance and feedback to individual students on their own dissemination plans. He will advise the team more broadly on evidence to underpin the knowledge exchange and dissemination activities across the doctoral programme.
