Meet the CDP-CDP consortium
Dr Aine Merwick
Dr Aine Merwick is a Consultant Neurologist at Cork University Hospital (CUH).
She will sit on the CDP-CDP Executive Programme Advisory Board and will provide a clinical partnership to facilitate recruitement and give clinical context on ‘real world’ medical practice updates that may influence the programme and PhD project 4. She will provide additional expert advice and facilitate recruitment of participants with high risk of TIA or minor ischaemic stroke for a feasibility study. Dr. Merwick has 5 years experince at consultant level and specialist qualification in stroke medicine, as well as a PhD in risk prediction relating to TIA and stroke. Her background includes an international portfolio focused on acute-phase management of TIA. She will provide clinical insights, access to stakeholder engagement and will ensure that the proposed research is of relevance to the Irish Healthcare system. In an Irish setting, the partnership provides a unique combination of research, leadership and clinical skills relevant to the programme.
