University of Galway School of Law Celebrates Multiple Finalists in the LEAP Irish Law Awards 2026
University of Galway School of Law is proud to announce its outstanding representation as a finalist in multiple categories at the LEAP Irish Law Awards 2026.
Having previously won Law School of the Year in 2019 and 2024, the School of Law is once again a finalist in this category which recognises the School’s academic excellence and innovative teaching methods along with it’s commitment to provide high quality student support and engagement.
The School is also delighted to announce that two academics have been shortlisted for Law Book of the Year: Dr Marianne Walsh Fryer for her work "Human Dignity and Biotechnological Patent Law" and Dr Maria O'Brien for her work "Tax Credits for Cultural Production in Europe: the Irish Example”.
Furthermore, the School also has three finalists in the Legal Educator of the Year category: Mr Colman Monaghan, Ms Deirdre Callanan, and Dr Rory Kelly.
Finally the School has seen a remarkable number of its students nominated for Law Student of the Year: Colman Monaghan, Eoghan Veerasingam, Miriam Collins, Róisín Cunningham, and Thomas Cannon.
The LEAP Irish Law Awards ceremony will take place in Dublin on Friday, 12th June, 2026.
