What does a Judicial Assistant do? Judicial Assistants provide assistance to a judge. This includes dealing with legal queries, administrative support, proofreading, and judgment checking, court-going work, and assistance when the judge is travelling. You would join a community of 100 judicial assistants across the country in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court and Circuit Court.

What are the benefits? Working directly with a judge, learning first-hand the way the courts system works. Access to a three-year training programme. Refund of fees for attendance at legal courses, for example Kings Inns or Diplomas in the Law Society. Opportunities to remain within the Courts Service and apply for further roles. An insight into working in the Civil Service.
