The 1960s Áras de Brún building was chosen for the SEAI/HEA Pathfinders Retrofit Project. Key upgrades include the installation of a 200kW air-to-water heat pump, an LED lighting system with presence and daylight sensors, and a 50kWp east-west solar photovoltaic (PV) array with battery storage. Additionally, the heating distribution system was re-engineered for improved zone control, featuring new radiators and an advanced Building Management System.
