Irish Research Council-funded PhD scholar
Joanne is an Irish Research Council-funded PhD scholar looking at harnessing blue biotechnology for the improvement of surgical adhesives. She completed a research project on barnacle proteins during the fourth year of her microbiology degree. She is in the first year of her PhD using recombinant protein technology to express proteins from a species whose cements have not been explored in detail.
