Guided Biodiversity Walk 11th June 2022

On Saturday 11th June 2022, An Taisce Climate Ambassadors along with members of the NUI Galway Sustainability Team held a biodiversity & heritage walk along the River Corrib.

Starting in NUI Galway, the walk passed along the riverbank, taking in the sights and sounds of this scenic protected landscape, while learning about the local flora and fauna from biodiversity expert Dr Caitríona Carlin. Participants heard stories about the historic Menlo Castle from PhD candidate and Climate Ambassador Hannah Aris. Finally, Mayor of Galway City and Climate Ambassador Colette Connolly shared some of her incredible sustainability work within Galway City Council.

Participants enjoyed a complimentary sustainable lunch from Saol Café - NUI Galway’s Social Inclusion café, serving tasty, healthy food.
