Sustainability is a core value at the University of Galway, enshrined in our Strategic Plan 2020-2025 and a Climate Action and Sustainability Policy. Sustainability and the SDGs are at the heart of everything we do. We are implementing our second Sustainability Strategy 2021-2025, embedding sustainability in our culture, operational policies and governance structures, and empowering our communities to be champions of sustainability and the SDGs.

The Community and University Sustainability Partnership (CUSP) is a multi-disciplinary, voluntary team of students and staff from across the campus and community partners all working together with the common aim of establishing the university as a leading institutional model for sustainability. You can find out more about CUSP and our governance structure by following the link below.

The Sustainability Office is a team of University of Galway staff that leads and promotes sustainability in all aspects of University learning and research, culture, operations and governance structures, and empowers our diverse communities of staff, students and partners to co-create tomorrow's sustainable campus and deliver the Sustainable Development Goals. The Office reports to the Deputy President & Registrar.
