The Erasmus Programme provides an exciting opportunity for students to complete part of their academic studies at a university in another European country. Through Erasmus, you’ll experience a new culture, improve your language skills, and learn about different academic approaches to your subject. Your studies abroad will be fully recognised and integrated into your degree programme. With over 600 study abroad placements available at 150 partner universities across Europe, there’s a destination to suit every interest. To participate, you must be a registered University of Galway student in the appropriate year and be selected by your departmental coordinator for an available placement in your field of study.

In addition to opportunities in Europe, University of Galway also offers study abroad options in destinations such as the USA, Hong Kong, China, and Japan, among others. These programmes s provide a unique chance to explore new academic and cultural landscapes outside of Europe.

  1. Employability Bootcamp (Before Placement):
  • Advisory Session: Meet staff, employers, and final-year students to learn about placement.
  • CV Workshop: Build and refine your CV with expert guidance.
  • One-on-One Review: Finalize your CV with personalized feedback.
  1. Placement Year:
  • Attend a Placement Kick-Off Session to learn about the Placement Application (PA) system.
  • Participate in an Interview Skills Workshop to prepare for job interviews.
  • Use the PA system to upload your CV, apply for placements, and track the process from application to offer.
