Registration Statement
Registration Statement.
From time to time you may need to provide a statement of academic qualification to another institution.
Registration Statements may be used as supporting documentation for any of the following:
- Opening a bank account or credit union account
- SUSI grant application
- Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) registration
- Social Welfare
- Funding support
- For bus/train transport where an ID card is not accepted (because it does not have an end date)
- For prospective landlords
- For City Council for residential parking permit in city centre
- For student discount rates, e.g. memberships
We provide the Official Registration Statement here at Student Registry Helpdesk.
To retrieve your Official Registration Statement from the Online Registration System, simply logon with your Student ID and password which is available on the Online Registration account

University of Galway uses Digitary, an online secure document platform to enable students and graduates to access certified and secure electronic documents such as a Registration Statement and a Graduate Statement

If the official registration statement does not suit your requirements, please email askregistry@universityofgalway.ie confirming your Name, Student ID or Date of Birth to request a custom statement.
Custom Statements are system generated statements that require manual customisation as follows:
- Multiple year Registration statement i.e. extra information can be required by SUSI applicants
- Exam Completion statement
- Course Completion statement
- Graduate Statement
- PhD Statement
- Medium of Course Instruction
Please note we do not provide statements for any of the following scenarios:
- Exemption from Jury Duty
- Letters of Attendance i.e. lectures, field trips
- Work placement
- Study Abroad
