Friday is your chill out evening, with a mix of introductory events to prepare you for the big Freshers’ Party which kicks off on Saturday.
Ideaslab Open House (Lego Café)
When: 11am - 2pm
Where: Ideaslab, Arts/Science Building
Come grab a coffee and build some LEGO® with the Ideaslab's team of interns! You can find out about their programmes and meet students from across campus.
PhotoSoc Digital & Film Photography Workshop
When: 4pm - 6pm
Where: The View, Áras na Mac Léinn
Are you a beginner in photography? Or want to take it up? Join PhotoSoc for an interactive workshop with a freelance photographer! You'll be discussing the basic of a camera and exploring the complexities of exposure and composition, so be sure to come by. All skill levels welcome.
Edible Biodiversity trail
When: 5pm
Where: Trail starts at the herb bed outside Moffetts, Orbsen Building
Get to know the most biodiverse campus in Ireland while snacking on some healthy treats along the way. A great way to meet new people and enjoy some fresh air. Each trail takes 30–45 minutes and offers you the chance to sample from our baby orchard, organic garden, plentiful fruit bushes and more.

Musical Soc Meetup
When 6pm - 7.30pm
Where: The View, upstairs, Áras na Mac Léinn
Come on a tour of Áras na Mac Léinn, the student building where Musical Soc rehearse, followed by a dance workshop where they will teach you one of the musical numbers from the show they performed last year, 'All Shook Up'.
Zoosoc Trivia Night
When: 6pm - 8pm
Where: The Space, upstairs in Áras na Mac Léinn
Join Zoosoc and test your knowledge on all things animal for the chance to win prizes! Quiz rounds will also include general pop-culture trivia. Free snacks provided.
Anime and Manga Kahoot
When: 7pm - 9pm
Where: The Hub, Áras na Mac Léinn
Are you an anime aficionado? A master of all things manga? A lover of light novels? Then come on down and test your knowledge in the Anime & Manga Society's Kahoot Night! We will be hosting multiple Kahoot quizzes based on all sorts of anime and manga trivia. No sign-ups needed, just bring your phone (and yourself!) and join in on the fun.
Screening with Timelord Soc

Where: The View, upstairs, Árasna Mac Léinn
Join Timelord Soc for screenings of your favourite Doctor (Dr. Who), chats and sweet treats.
Dusk Bat Walk
When: 7.45pm
Where: Starting at the Orbsen Building
Did you know that we share our campus with families of bats? Join us at dusk to explore how these bats make themselves at home in the campus grounds. Using bat detectors, you listen in to the variety of sounds the bats make as they hunt for insects. Remember to dress for the weather.
