New video-learning initiative from Microbiology at University of Galway

Microbiology has produced and launched a suite of teaching videos to help 3rd and 2nd level teaching of microbiology. 40 technical videos, each of ~5-7 mins and describing techniques used in our BSc Microbiology teaching labs, were launched on a dedicated “Microbiology teaching videos at NUI Galway” YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsP4xz5aq7sWfR9eXSCd_QQ) by President Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh of University of Galway on May 28th 2019.

The two-year project was led by Dr Katrina Lacey and involved PhD students and staff from throughout Microbiology. The YouTube channel is freely available to 2nd and 3rd level students to assist them in their studies in microbiology and the biosciences. Check out the “Introduction” video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fj8bNMAwrGg&t=74s) to get a flavour of the project.
