PhD student
Alexa first joined the research group as an Erasmus+ trainee , where she annotated deep-sea videos for the SFI project "Exploiting and conserving deep-sea genetic resources", and used some of the data she generated for her MSc in Marine Biology at the University of Padua. After graduating cum laude, in 2021, Alexa obtained a Hardiman Scholarship to pursue a PhD with our group, and her studies now focus on deep-sea black corals.
