Visiting Student Handbook, Timetables and Modules
Important information for students planning to come to NUI Galway including a list of allowed modules for incoming students is available from our International Office in the Visiting Student Handbook.
Please use the Timetable to find appropriate modules that can be taken together.
Please note,
- Entry into modules requires students to have a relevant academic background and that space is available in the module.
- Many modules run in 4 or 6-week blocks. Students should ensure they attend lectures and practical laboratories from the first day to avoid missing any content.
- Practical sessions shown in the timetable with a star are alternative times in the same week. You must attend the same session time every week.
- Students must ensure they do not book flights home until AFTER the end of the exam period. See the Academic Term Dates

Erasmus Traineeships/Internships
Unfortunately, neither the College of Science & Engineering Office nor the International Office can organise traineeships for international students. Please see the International Office policy on internships.
Students wishing to undertake an Erasmus traineeship at NUI Galway should identify specific potential supervisors in our research groups directly, attaching their CV and outlining their specific interests and the proposed timeline.
To identify potential supervisors, please see our School Research pages and the NUI Galway list of research centres and units.
Under no circumstances should prospective students send bulk non-specific emails to multiple academic staff. This is spam.
