Student Ambassador Activities

Student Ambassadors are often the first point of contact for prospective students, their families, and many other visitors to the campus. You won’t have to take part in all these activities, depending on what interests you, but student ambassadors are required to support our Open Days which take place in March and October each year, and recieve training on our Campus Tours.  Here are a few examples of other ways you can help the University of Galway:

  • Provide campus tours to prospective students from around the world, visiting academic staff, alumni and other visitors to the university.
  • Assist with Student Recruitment led events on the campus such as the Open Days, Taster Days and other information evenings and events.
  • Represent University of Galway at large external events such as Higher Options, Options West, Pathways and more.
  • Provide support to university led events and campaigns while working with units from across the University such as Conferring, Orientation, Summer Schools etc.
  • Act as a point of contact for prospective students looking for information about studying in University of Galway.
  • Provide content for the Student Blog, get to share your story by featuring in videos, blogs, photoshoots, social media
  • Deliver presentations and talks to prospective students at recruitment events, such as ‘The Student Life’ talk at Open Days and at regional information evenings off campus.

From time-to-time other activities may come up. Ambassador hours are flexible and vary depending on the time of year.
