New Academic Opportunities at University of Galway
– A University for the Public Good
Ollscoil na Gaillimhe – University of Galway is announcing the introduction of 27 new academic posts across four Colleges, in areas aligned with our strategic goals and values, arising from the initial Government of Ireland’s investment in Funding the Future. This investment will further enhance our research capacities and student experience.
University of Galway is committed to attracting, retaining and developing globally talented academic staff in line with our values of respect, excellence, openness and sustainability.
We are a driver of positive transformation for our people, our place and our planet, harnessing our distinctive strengths and creative energy to deliver sustainable societal impact. Our trailblazers have engineered modern San Francisco (Michael O’Shaughnessy), intercepted war communications (Emily Anderson), named human species (Professor William King) and propelled political change (President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins) across the world.
Our University has a deep commitment to every student. We encourage our students to be their best selves. Our mission is to create a student-centred, research-driven teaching and learning experience, in which our students develop their capacities to respond as informed citizens to tomorrow’s global challenges.
Our research addresses profound societal questions and is internationally recognised for its excellence and contribution to sustainability and the public good. We are ranked 34th among the world’s top universities, and top 10 in Europe, for our impact on the UN-SDGs (THE Impact Rankings 2022–23) – we are the first and only university in Ireland to be awarded SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Champion status.
The current expansion of our academic staff strengthens our University’s position as a global leader in quality education. We are seeking outstanding academics to deliver leading-edge education and research.
Join us to sustain and invest in the future, ar son leas an phobail, ár bpobail, for the public good.
