The main events organized by the RSA are: monthly Agallamh na Seanórach gatherings (September to June); the RSA Lecture Series; the RSA Annual Lunch (January); travel in Ireland and abroad; meetings with other retired university staff associations.
Owing to Covid-19, all events scheduled after 10 March 2020 are cancelled.

Retired staff have the benefit of access to a very wide range of events in the University, including social gatherings, courses, seminars and conferences. Please click on the link below for a list of some of these and suggestions for ways of keeping informed about what is on offer.
Other Events and Activities
Staff who have retired from NUIG often continue to be active professionally or in other areas, or receive awards. We welcome news of these activities. To date, most of the information we have received is related to research, but there is scope for news of other types of action, such as community engagement.

There is a limited number (~10) of car parking spaces available on the morning of each Agallamh. The car registration number must be communicated to Marie Cunningham on the day before the meeting. Contact: phone (091) 493632, or email marie.cunningham@nuigalway.ie. The car park barrier will automatically rise when the specified car approaches. It is necessary to bring your car close to the barrier for your registration to be read.
Travel
The overseas tour will be to Moscow (23 April-3 May 2020). Thirty-nine members and friends will be on this trip, and booking is now closed (December 2019).

The first tour in 2019 will be our visit to central Spain from 26 April to 2 May. The itinerary includes several key destinations: Madrid, Salamanca, Segovia, La Granja de San Ildefonso, El Escorial and Toledo.
This tour has been arranged with John Galligan Travel (JGT), who managed our highly successful trips to St Petersburg (2015) and The Baltic States & Finland (2018). Booking for the central Spain tour has now closed.
