CRIS and Web Profile Page
CRIS (Current Research Information System) is a user-friendly, intuitive, web-based system that enables researchers and academic staff to create, update and maintain their own web profiles/CV’s and showcase their research expertise and achievements to a global audience.
The CRIS system will be integrated with the University of Galway Research Repository. Through CRIS publication full text can be uploaded to the repository and once your CRIS profile is published it will allow your colleagues and others to more easily cite your publications in referencing. Please click here for training guides and FAQ's.
Log in using your standard Campus Account (UDS) username and password. For more information on CRIS or if you have any queries please contact CRIS@universityofgalway.ie or CRIS@ollscoilnagaillimhe.ie

University Name
The correct institutional name for citation purposes is 'National University of Ireland Galway' and this name must be used, in conjunction with other Institute, Centre or School names, when submitting papers for publications.
Open Access and University of Galway Research Repository
University of Galway Research Repository is the digital collection of open access scholarly publications from the University of Galway. The repository collects, preserves and makes freely available scholarly communication, including peer-reviewed articles, working papers and conference papers created by University of Galway researchers. Where material has already been published it is made available subject to the open-access policies of the original publishers.
University of Galway Research Repository is crawled by Google Scholar, Google, and OAIster, and it can expose your research to the widest possible audience.
Through CRIS; publication full text can be uploaded to the repository and it will allow your colleagues and others to more easily cite your publications in referencing.
ORCID
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a non-proprietary alphanumeric code to uniquely identify scientific and other academic authors and contributors.
It provides a unique identifier for individuals to use with their name as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. For example, the late Stephen Hawking's ORCID ID was /0000-0002-9079-593X, so as not to be confused with any other S. Hawking.
This persistent digital identifier distinguishes them from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between them and their professional activities ensuring that their work is fully captured and recognised. Click here to find out more information on ORCID or for user guides on how to connect your ORCID to your CRIS profile please click here.
