Postgraduate Seminar Group
The Postgraduate Seminar Group is a student-run, hybrid seminar group in The School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences, NUI Galway. Each week, members will have the opportunity to deliver a short presentation (15-30 minutes) and answer questions on any topic in mathamatics of their choosing. Seminars will be held both online and in person, and are intended to be accessible to a general maths postgraduate audience. You could discuss a paper you're working on, practice for an upcoming conference or viva, or give a light-hearted talk on something you find interesting. Seminars can be delivered through slides or a virtual whiteboard (a Wacom tablet will be provided).
If you would like to join the group, ask some questions or contribute a talk, please contact one of the organisers: Victoria Sánchez Muñoz or Peter Phelan. These activities are a great way to network with other postgraduates, gain experience in presenting you work, and they look great on a CV, so I highly recommend you take part.
Time: Thursdays at 12pm
Location: ADB-G021, Áras De Brún, NUI Galway
